Mechanism of Action

Epithalon activates telomerase, the enzyme that elongates telomeric DNA at chromosome ends, thereby counteracting the telomere shortening associated with cellular senescence. It also regulates pineal gland melatonin secretion, modulates hypothalamic-pituitary function, and exerts antioxidant effects by reducing lipid peroxidation. Studies in animal models have shown reductions in age-associated pathology and extended median and maximum lifespan.
