Mechanism of Action

Thymalin is a mixture of short thymic peptides (primarily di- and tripeptides: Lys-Glu, Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed from thymus gland extract by the Khavinson group. Like other peptide bioregulators, these short sequences penetrate cell nuclei and activate organ-specific gene expression. In thymus and T-lymphocytes, they promote IL-2 production, restore T-helper/T-suppressor ratios, and increase NK cell activity. Long-term studies showed reduced all-cause mortality in elderly cohorts.
