Mechanism of Action

Matrixyl 3000 is a combination of two palmitoylated peptides: Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 (Pal-Gly-His-Lys, lipidated GHK analogue) and Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12. These matrikine peptides mimic collagen degradation fragments that signal fibroblasts to initiate repair. Pal-Tripeptide-1 activates TGF-beta signalling in fibroblasts via integrin binding, driving collagen I, III, VI and fibronectin synthesis. The lipid (palmitoyl) chain increases skin penetration through the stratum corneum lipid bilayer.
