Authentic human pituitary GH has 191 amino acids. Early bacterial recombinant production systems added an extra methionine at the N-terminus (position 0), producing 192aa HGH. This extra methionine increased immunogenicity and antibody formation in some patients. Modern mammalian cell and recombinant bacterial systems produce the authentic 191aa sequence. Pepturo supplies only the 191aa form.
